About the Play
Anna and Claire, two women of the upper class, clash over Claire’s new "love," while Anna has just become the mistress of a wealthy man, receiving from him a lavish necklace and a generous monthly allowance.
Anna’s Scottish maid, Catherine, bursts into tears under the harsh verbal reprimands of her employer. The tension escalates as Anna tries to dissuade Claire from pursuing this new romance. Claire, however, has already arranged to meet her young love interest at Anna’s house, hoping to persuade the young woman to be with her.
But things take an unexpected turn when the young woman finally arrives...

Director’s Note
"This is a love story— a reminder that love and attraction, companionship and solidarity have never been defined by gender or time. Since the dawn of the world, people have fallen in love, shared affection, laughed, and despaired in the same primal way.
The relationship between these two women unfolds in the Victorian era, yet it mirrors moments of our lives today. After all, what in life isn’t a compromise? Love."
